UNFU is on the list of the best universities in Europe and Central Asia Ranking

rankingThe annual list of the best developing universities in Europe and Central Asia for 2022 (QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia University Rankings 2022) includes UNFU, in addition to our higher educational institution in the ranking there are two other Lviv universities.

The ranking was concluded by the global research consulting center QS Quacquarelli Symonds. The list includes 450 best higher education institutions, including 41 from Ukraine.

The Ukrainian National Forestry University entered the category of universities that took 251-300 places in the overall ranking. In particular, 106th place was taken by the National University "Lviv Polytechnic", 191st place - Lviv Ivan Franko National University.

The number of Ukrainian higher education institutions among the best in Eastern Europe and Central Asia increased to 41, which is an absolute record in the history of this regional ranking. At the same time, Ukraine's presence in the top 100 rankings decreased from four to three universities against the background of a general decline in their reputation and scientometric indicators.

In general, compared to 2021, the number of free economic zones of Ukraine in the regional ranking increased from 25 to 41:

  • 16 universities entered the ranking for the first time;
  • 4 universities improved their positions compared to last year;
  • 7 universities retained their positions.

Ukrainian institutions of higher education, which were included in the list of the 100 best:

  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv - 35th place in 2022 (33rd place in 2021);
  • National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" (NTUU KPI) – 63rd place in 2022 (66th place in 2021);
  • V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University – 69th place in 2022 (67th place in 2021).

To compile a regional ranking of QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia University Rankings, ten indicators are taken into account:

  1. academic reputation of the educational institution,
  2. the reputation of the educational institution among employers,
  3. the ratio of the number of teachers and students,
  4. number of publications per teacher and employee,
  5. number of citations per publication,
  6. share of foreign teachers and staff,
  7. share of foreign students,
  8. the share of teachers and staff with a degree,
  9. depth of international scientific collaborations,
  10. the presence of an educational institution in the online environment.
